After having graduated from the Art Academy in Rotterdam in 1973, I taught art class at a Dutch secondary school for a period of 8 years. In addition there to, I worked free lance for fashion magazines and various clothing labels. In 1985 I moved to Belgium and two years later I started an art rental/intermediary agency under the name Brussels Art Connection. I lived in Portugal from 2006 until 2010 and the Portuguese nature and landscape have had a significant influence on my work: the blue skies, the tropical flowers, the beautiful sunlight and ocean... This natural beauty is what I want to convey and share with my paintings.
